IDS Climalife staff celebrated the 20 year anniversary of IDS Refrigeration Limited this month, hosting a celebratory dinner at Cadbury House just outside Bristol.

The Bristol team were delighted to be joined by the full Climalife Dehon Directorship team including brothers Pierre-Ettiene and Pascal Dehon who each shared their words of thanks for the excellent company performance, motivation and teamwork over the last 20 years, and their support for continued growth in the future.  “Working together we have a great future ahead of us” said Pascal Dehon.  “Time has gone so fast and we’ve seen spectacular growth” said Pierre-Ettiene.

Founded in 1998, IDS Refrigeration Limited originated from a joint venture between Rhodia and its European distributor, the Dehon Group.

KEN CLEMENTS

Ken ClementsOn Boxing Day 2017, we lost our good friend and colleague Ken Clements.

At just 57, Ken was a friend to many of us having worked for well over 30 years in the HVAC industry.  He had a love of motorsports, was dedicated to his family and always ready to help others - nothing was ever too much trouble.

Despite his illness, Ken was dedicated to helping his customers and colleagues and continued to work from home until very recently.

Ken will be missed immensely by all of us at IDS Climalife and our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

A fund raising page has been set up in his memory:

REFRIGERANTS

A2L refrigerants from Climalife UK

LOWERING GWP WITH R-32 AND A2L REFRIGERANTS

To keep moving to lower GWP and achieve the phase down targets of F-Gas through to 2030, it will be necessary to use much lower GWP refrigerants.  With a further F-Gas phase down step every three years, there is a need to start the move to much lower GWP refrigerants for new equipment now.

The lead for new equipment has to come from the manufacturer and compressor builder as they need to be sure their products are both safe and functional for the purpose of use.  To get to much lower GWP there will be a need for A2L classified refrigerants and a range of such products are undergoing thorough testing by equipment manufacturers.
