Solstice® yf - The new refrigerant for automotive air conditioning!

There are already millions of vehicles in the aftermarket, using R-1234yf refrigerant for air conditioning. This number will increase in the coming years as a lot of vehicles sold from 2017, will use a refrigerant with a GWP below 150.

Solstice® yf (R-1234yf) is a HydroFluoroOlefin (HFO), developed by Honeywell. This new refrigerant will replace R-134a, used in automotive air conditioning in compliance with current regulations.

The Solstice® yf refrigerant has a very low environmental impact. With a GWP < 1**, Solstice® yf has virtually no impact on the environment, breaking down and disappearing from the atmosphere in just 11 days, compared with R-134a’s 13 year lifespan.
Vehicles using Solstice® yf will use less fuel and produce 20 to 30% less of CO2, resulting in a significant decrease of the carbon footprint.
